After spending 4 months in Honolulu, we came back to California on Labor Day weekend. Jeannie's daughter Pamela from Chicago came to Sunnyvale to spend the 3 day weekend with us. We had an enjoyable weekend visiting and going to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. The rest of September was spent with family dinners and a 3 day weekend at my mother's cabin in the Russian River. While we were there, we drove up to Mendocino for the day. It was an all day trip because of the curvy 2 lane road.

When we had time, did some fishing in Pacifica.

October started out with a trip to Napa for a private wine tasting. Then off on a 16 day Panama Canal cruise leaving from San Pedro to Puerto Rico. At the end of the cruise we stayed an additional 3 days in San Juan and visited Old San Juan and tried some local cuisine. We wanted to try the authentic pastelis but were told that they only make them during the Christmas season. We can buy them all year round in Honolulu. We went on the Celebrity Millennium to Cabo, Acapulco, Huatulco Mexico, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Colon, Panama, Cartagena, Colombia, Aruba and San Juan. This was the longest cruise we have taken so far. It was very relaxing because we did one port every other day with a sea day in between. After resting a couple of weeks from our cruise we decided that we needed a vacation so we went to Las Vegas for 3 days and left a bunch of money behind.

We had all my family come to my house for Thanksgiving.

As soon as that was done we had to pack and go back to Hawaii for Jeannie's best friend's son's wedding. We stayed in Hawaii for 2 weeks and had to come home for Christmas because Jeannie's 2 kids David and Pamela were coming to California.

This was the first time our kids have met and everyone had an enjoyable time together. My 2 grandsons Ryan and Tyler really took a liking to David, Jeannie's son.

This was a very busy time for us. On the 23rd, we had a Hawaiian dinner for our family, then Christmas Eve, my son-in-law Terrence made his crab cioppino for all of us, then Christmas Day we had brunch and opened presents. Christmas Day dinner was quiet with just Jeannie's kids. We're not done yet. The 26th we went over to my son's Pat's house for Tyler's birthday party. Tyler is my first grandson. Then Sunday we were off to Candlestick to watch the 49er game. More dinners this New Year's Eve week. We are definitely going on a diet after New Years.
